Progress Within The U.K Advertising Standards Authority
The U.K is currently raising the benchmark for advertising standards within the remote gaming industry. The U.K Advertising Standards Authority has reviewed its system and the general perception is that it has drastically improved.
Whilst the ASA has improved I Gaming Company’s ability to advertise, it has also drafted a more comprehensive legislation which is well enforced. Ladbrokes was the first to learn just how well the ASA upholds its regulations when one of its recent adverts was banned by the authority for comparing Ladbrokes to adrenaline and downright risky behaviour.
Ladbrokes on the other hand feels that the ASA’s actions were nitpicky and indicates that the Authorities collar is too stiff to have practical bearing on the industry.
The majority of operators are hopeful that the new U.S administration will see America legalise and regulate the I Gaming industry and that its policies could even rub off on the U.K administration. Others are quick to point out however, that jurisdictions are and will remain bent on having independent regulations and are only open to policies which suit their personal economic, social and moral values.
